WHY DESIGN?
Anika likes making things that have a purpose. Seeing her designs in use is one of the most fulfilling things.
FAVORITE ARTISTS/DESIGNERS
Some of her favorite artists are Lucian Bernhard, Corita Kent, Sage Haviv and Chris Do. She enjoys how all four of these designers continuously push the boundaries of what graphic design is and how it can appear in a variety of forms.
ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
Anika would love to be able to combine her love of food and design, and to live by the beach.
FUN FACTS
Anika has been to almost all 50 states, her favorite seasons, and white is her favorite color.

SPECIALTIES IN DESIGN
Cassie's specialties in design are UI/UX design and illustration.
FUN FACTS
Cassie is from a small town in Illinois called Yorkville, She grew up involved in theatre, dance, band, and she plays the flute.
FAVORITE PLACE IN MUNCIE
Her favorite place in Muncie Minnetrista and she loves to visit the Boss Ross Experience and taking walks along the trails.
WHY DESIGN?
Cassie chose design because since knew from a very young age that she was made to create and help others. When she chose design she allowed herself to channel her creativity while still being able to problem-solve with people in mind.
Kyra Morgan

FREE TIME ACTIVITIES
Kyra owns a copy of the script for all three Lord of the Rings movies.
WHY DESIGN?
She chose design because it is such versatile creative field. Design can be so deceptively simple and so learning about all the work that goes into each decision is fascinating and eye-opening. Seeing design in everyday life and understanding its inner workings is very exciting.
FAVORITE ARTISTS/DESIGNERS
Some of Kyra's favorite designers include Will Bradley, Alphonse Mucha, and Shigeo Fukuda. She also really like the Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock printing artist Utagawa Hiroshige, and his "One Hundred Views of Edo" series.
FAVORITE PLACE IN MUNCIE
Her favorite place to visit in Muncie is the giant tin man on Kilgore Ave.

FAVORITE PLACE IN MUNCIE
Her favorite part of Muncie is the Cardinal Greenway in Minnetrista. Walking the path is the best in the summer!
WHY DESIGN?
Sunnie chose design because she loves creativity, but she also loves having rules and guidelines. A true designer knows what all of these rules and guidelines are, but then they are always thinking about how to break them to make visually appealing.
ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
Her aspirations in design are filled with being a part of creative teams. She wants to start with bouncing ideas with other designers and learning things from them everyday. Throughout time, she would love to be able to my experience to lead the team in creative projects.
FUN FACTS
Her name, Sunnie, came from being named after her Grandfather "Sonny". She was born in Rhode Island. She grew up spending going to school in Indiana, but spent all her summers and break in New York and the east coast. She has been drawing people's pets on the side for commission work since 2019.

WHY DESIGN?
Lily chose design because ever since she was a child she always loved art and knew it was what she had to do when she was older.
FUN FACTS
Lily had 5 wisdom teeth, she has a double-jointed jaw, she has a collection of mugs and plants, and she can identify any scene in the Harry Potter films by the background music.
FAVORITE PLACE IN MUNCIE
Lily's favorite place in Muncie is the White Rabbit bookstore and the cardinal greenway by the river.
ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
She wants to either become a book cover designer, or an UI/UX designer depending on where she ends up living in a couple years and the market.
Aaron Franklin

FUN FACTS
Aaron his double jointed in all of his fingers, elbows, and knees, which causes him to hold writing utensils with my thumb bent the wrong way. (Somehow none of his teachers never noticed this or corrected it.)
SPECIALTIES IN DESIGN
Aaron doesn't consider himself to have a specialty in design, but he's drawn to more imagery based work. He enjoy designing posters, book covers, album covers, and clothing (such as t-shirts and hats).
ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
One of his biggest aspirations is to eventually work/collaborate with artists in different fields, ex. music, theater, fashion. He feel like he would really enjoy expanding on other's ideas, or translating them into a cohesive, unique design.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES
In my (very limited) free time, he plays guitar, piano and saxophone, rollerblade, and listen to music.

Grace's specialties in design include illustration, poster design, and book cover design.
WHY DESIGN?
Grace chose design because she enjoys the process of finding a creative solution to a problem. It's also a way to combine her love of art and problem-solving.
ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
Her aspirations are working for a graphic design firm and maybe even starting her own firm one day.
FAVORITE ARTISTS/DESIGNERS
Her favorite artists and designers are Art Chantry, the Stenberg Brothers, Saul Bass, Milton Glaser and Yayoi Kusama.

She's never broken a bone, she have a phobia of frogs, and my most prized possession is a 17 year old teddy bear.
FAVORITE DESIGNERS
Her favorite designers are Kel Lauren and Sierra Highfield.
ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
In the future she would like to be able to work at a marketing or design agency, where she would get the opportunity to work with multiple clients and have a variety of work and projects.
WHY DESIGN?
Breanna chose design because it was something she never explored in-depth and Ishe wanted to try something new. She also thought the ways in which design is different from other art fields was interesting.

Anna has a dog named Novvi, she love Harry Styles, and her favorite show is New Girl.
WHY DESIGN?
Anna has always loved art and being able to create something unique to her. Graphic design gives her a way to express her ideas in ways that she can’t get from a different art form. She also chose design due to all of the different possibilities in life and career that it offers.
ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
She would love to join the sports industry and become a graphic designer for a team in the NFL where she would create various forms of visual content/graphics for social media, events, etc.

Jaxson is from Fort Wayne Indiana, he can't touch my toes on most days and he is probably really hungry right now.

ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
Jaxson wants to hone his technical and digital art skills to apply them both outside and inside of graphic design.

WHY DESIGN?
He chose design because it combines many different ways of being creative into one major. Whether its designing a book cover, a poster, using photography or outside mediums and then putting them into a digital format is very interesting to him.
Matthew Kenney
MATTHEW KENNEY

FUN FACTS
Matthew is from Muncie and he listens to a lot of music including rock music. He is also in Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) here at Ball State. He's been using programs such at Photoshop and Premiere Pro since he was 12 which is one of the reasons why he was interested in picking Visual Communication as his major.

Matthew's aspirations in design are to learn more to be able to improve his art continuously and skills to be able to become a better artist.
WHY DESIGN?
Design is something that Matthew was always interested in. He loves the problem-solving aspect because he's been a problem solver since he was a kid.
